EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing is a therapeutic approach helping people who are struggling to cope with trauma, anxiety, depression and other emotional difficulties. It is an evidence based treatment that has been approved by NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) and ISTSS (International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies). EMDR is helpful with a range of traumatic experiences which may include distressing incidents such as serious accidents, violence, abuse and childhood attachment difficulties. 

NEURODIVERSITY

Conditions or ways of being in the world such as Autism, Asperger's and ADHD come under the umbrella of neurodiversity. I work with adults, young people and families to explore and understand neurodiversity. Helping others to become more adapt at connecting with the strengths and benefits of being neurodiverse, in addition coping with the challenges of living in a neurotypical world. Supporting pre and post diagnosis, signposting towards assessment when appropriate, and working with those self identifying as neurodiverse. ​

TRAINING

I deliver online training on the areas of Neurodiversity and Developmental Trauma. I focus on Autism, Asperger's and ADHD, with professionals and individuals wanting to learn more. Focusing on themes such as gender differences in presentation, differences between neurodiversity and trauma presentations, identification of the key traits that would suggest onward referral for diagnosis/further exploration or information about how to make adjustments to utilize strengths and cope with difficulties.
